Our Mission
Big cities can be lonely places, and that’s exactly where we come in. Every week, we read every listing ourselves and send you a Letter you can go through at your own pace. It covers everything from your next career move to the right person at the right time to the apartment you’ve been hoping for. Over the years, WOLOHO has led to new jobs, studios, teams, roommates, friendships, bands, and even families. People helping each other is what we’re here for.
It all began with noodles
Back in 2005, our founder Reza started inviting creative people to his kitchen table for a monthly noodle dinner. Before long, his guests were helping each other find apartments and passing along job tips. Reza simply emailed it all around, back then in two newsletters called Sherlock Homes and Watson Berlin.
In 2013, a third Letter joined them, this time for love, help, and everything else that brings people together. That’s when the three became WOLOHO, short for WORK, LOVE & HOME. Today, listings reach us from all over the world, and we’re still growing by word of mouth alone, which makes us really happy.
Our team
Rana
Rana is Reza’s sister and has been on board since 2019. She firmly believes people can genuinely show up for each other, and that belief runs through everything she does here. Her years in advertising, events, hospitality, and spirituality have given her a feel for people that no one can teach you.
Natalie
Natalie was WOLOHO’s very first employee and a core part of the team for more than ten years. Today, she freelances for the Workletter, which still sounds a lot like her. Outside of WOLOHO, she works in the nonprofit world, and human rights are especially close to her heart.
Reza
Reza founded WOLOHO and still holds it all together. His day job is writing and directing animated films and developing games, but WOLOHO is and always will be his passion project. Helping people out and bringing them together just makes him happy.
Gus
Gus is Reza’s Tollerdoodle, a mix of poodle and Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. He keeps Reza on his toes, in a good mood, and firmly wrapped around his paw. No one at WOLOHO has managed to resist his charm yet.
Mia
Mia is Rana’s Lab, and anyone who meets her knows right away why she’s part of the team. Her good mood is contagious, and she’s sweet through and through. She warms up any room she walks into and makes sure someone’s always smiling.
